My printer is printing the wrong colour?
If you have the option of
checking your ink levels via a printer utility, ensure that you have not run
out of any colours. If you have run out of a particular colour, do not try to
print with the remaining colours as you risk damaging the cartridge. If this
is not the case, you may have a blockage.
Cartridges can sometimes
become blocked if you have not used your printer for a long period of time,
or on hot days the ink can dry on the print head - causing one or more colours
to become blocked.
You can sometimes unblock
your cartridge using the following methods:
Remove your cartridge from the printer
- Use a tissue to wipe
the print head clean of any dry ink, blotting the print head on some tissue
will draw ink from the cartridge.
- Place your cartridge
print head face down in a saucer of warm water (not boiling)
leave your cartridge in the water for 15-30 minutes, this will dissolve the
dry ink from the print head. Wipe the cartridge dry before returning it to
the printer.
- Run a print head clean
(Please check your printers' user manual for instructions.)
