What is a Printer Driver?
A printer driver is a software program designed to enable the operating system (eg. Windows XP, Linux, etc.) on your computer to communicate with your printer. You can think of the driver as an interpreteur translating the conversation between computer and printer.
Many newer drivers may also have advanced features built into them which may allow you to monitor the remaining ink levels in your cartridges for example or to make fine adjustments to your printer settings with the aim of improving quality or possibly to save ink. To see if there is a newer or improved version of your printer driver there is a list of manufacturer email addresses on the "manufacturers" page.
